Fighting Is Alive And Well In Hockey: Massive Brawl Breaks Out In Hong Kong Youth Game

Looks like we’ve got a little crossover event here between Donnie Does and Spittin’ Chiclets.

My favorite part about fights in youth hockey is that 100% of the time,  you’ll always end up with some hockey moms screaming “STOP IT!!” and banging on the glass. It never works* and the fighting always continues, but that doesn’t stop them from trying. It’s just a nice little additional element added to the videos. You don’t get that when you’re watching a fight in the NHL. Instead, all you end up getting is 20,000 cheering on the fisticuffs and maybe a couple of parents trying to shield their child’s eyes. Which is cool and everything but it just doesn’t have the same allure to it. Because when you get the hockey moms all riled up, that opens things up to endless possibilities. More times than not, you’ll end up getting a hockey mom from the other team deciding to scream down at the original hockey mom who is screaming to stop. Then once another hockey mom gets involved, that’s about the point where a hockey dad feels the need to step up and scream something the other direction. And then once a hockey dad decides to say something, well that’s when the fight usually moves from the ice and into the stands. Which is really what we all wanted to see happen in the first place.

The actual fight itself? Well first of all, it’s only a matter of time before this kid in red ends up getting his shit wrecked.

Kid was just throwing an unrelenting barrage of punches to the back of that other kid’s head, and still couldn’t take him to the ice. I’d never wish something bad to happen to a kid but you can just tell that that’s a shitty kid right there.

And then there’s this kid right here who is the biggest wild card of the bunch. Gets separated by the refs, jumps right back up and hits this other kid with flying elbow.

What a maniac.

*Screaming “stop it” never works but if a hockey mom steps out onto the ice, that fight is over the moment that door opens up.
