It's Time To Give The People What They Want And Bring Back Team USA Melo

Another day, another couple All Star caliber players opting out of Team USA. Fine by me, if anything that just means more opportunities and shots for Kemba/Jaylen/Tatum/Smart which I will always support. However I understand that not everyone is a Celtics fan which is why if Team USA was smart, they would fill this now rapidly growing hole on their roster with perhaps the best international player the world has ever seen. That’s right, give the people what they want and bring back Team USA Melo

Listen times are tough for Melo right now in terms of making an NBA roster. He can put out all the shooting workout videos on social media he wants, you get the sense that no NBA teams are going to come calling. We can’t as a country let all that talent go to waste, and that’s why it makes perfect sense to bring back the Team USA legend that is Carmelo Anthony. I’m not kidding either, when you look at where he ranks in Team USA history you see he’s

– 1st in FGA (262)
– 1st in rebounds (125)
– 1st in 3PA (139)
– 1st in FTM (53)

He also owns the one of the best individual game scoring outputs in team history. We joke about washed Melo by NBA standards, but put some respect on his name when it comes to international competition. Honestly at this point, why not? With all of these elite all stars opting out, this team needs someone like Team USA Melo more than ever. All the negatives you may worry about when it comes to Melo, whether it’s his selfish play, his lack of defense and really giving a shit in general don’t exist once he puts on that USA jersey. He turns into the best version of himself and one of the deadliest offensive forces the world has ever seen. He’s a surefire HOF talent that I wouldn’t hate being on this roster to show the young kids how to dominate international competition, plus who knows maybe he’ll be on his best behavior and super motivated in an effort to show NBA teams he’s worth a roster spot.

The more I think about it the harder time I’m having trying to find a reason to NOT have Melo on this roster, so I’m going to need Jerry Colangelo to wake up and make the call. Team USA needs a savior right now and Melo believe it or not is the perfect choice.
