Kevin Smith Says He's Been Told The Last Shot In 'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker' Will "Melt Your Mind"

Oh…my…god.

Kevin Smith revealed this weekend that during his visit to the ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ set, he was told by various crew members that there was one particular location at Pinewood Studios – the location of the final scene in the film – that’d MELT HIS MIND. Originally intrigued, Smith vetoed to get his eyes on this after director JJ Abrams warned him otherwise.

“You don’t want this spoiled. You want to be in a theater when this happens. Trust me.”, he said, and according to Kevin Smith, that’s all it took for him to decide against getting his eyes on this mystery set.

I fucking love this story for a multitude of reasons. One, it shows how big a fucking Star Wars fan Kevin Smith is. There’s no schtick with him. He don’t like this shit just because he makes money talking about it, or built a career on being a voice for nerds – he just likes it as all of us do. Two, it shows how big a Star Wars fan JJ ABRAMS is, and how good a friend he is to my guy Kev Smith! What a warning! He knows he’s gonna melt some faces, and can’t wait for em to be melted! Oh, and also, because if everyone on the crew is like, “Bro, this is going to explode heads everywhere.”, that’s a REEEEAAAAL good sign for the close of the most iconic saga in all of film.

Now, I’ve got a prediction about what this location may be that I’ll share with all of you here, but keep this in mind – it’s only my own fan theory. I’ve got no inside info, and this is based on literally nothing but the trailer for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ and this above video clip. If it doesn’t come true, I don’t care. Don’t let theory culture kill this flick! Okay, here it is, though…

I predict that the final shot of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker’ will be Rey Skywalker (having taken on Luke’s last name like Clem has suggested, I don’t think she’s related to him at all) on Tatooine, at the LARS HOMESTEAD, watching a Binary Sunrise.

C’mon! Tell me that wouldn’t fucking RULE! Maybe BB-8 is with her, maybe Poe is with her (they had a lil moment at the end of ‘The Last Jedi’, don’t act like they didn’t), maybe the whole sequel trilogy gang is with her! That’s what my prediction is, though, so let me hear yours!

P.S. All of the people I’ve seen saying, “Well I don’t give a fuck what it’s gonna be after The Last Jedi” can go kick rocks. You didn’t enjoy ‘The Last Jedi’ so you’re now actively avoiding Star Wars/rooting for Star Wars to fail? Fuck outta here. Get, that, dirt off your shoulder, and move on.
