SOURCE - The sequel to 21 Savage and Metro Boomin's classic collab Savage Mode is on the way, the rapper recently announced. The Atlanta artist is on the first leg of his I Am > I Was Tour along with 2019 XXL Freshman DaBaby. On Friday night (July 19), the show stopped in Los Angeles, where he performed at The Shrine and made a special announcement about his forthcoming project. As the show was closing out, 21 addressed the crowd. "Los Angeles, California, I want to say R.I.P. to Nipsey Hussle. We lost a real soldier," 21 said as he descended under the stage. "Savage Mode 2 on the muthafuckin way."
The original Savage Mode EP was integral in 21 becoming a known commodity. Released in July 2016, the project was spearheaded by the singles "X" featuring Future and "No Heart." It peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard 200 chart.
21's most recent release, I Am > I Was, came out last December and featured Post Malone, Childish Gambino, ScHoolboy Q, Offset, Lil Baby, Gunna, Travis Scott and J. Cole on the hit single "A Lot." In other 21 Savage-related news, last month, he donated $25,000 to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based nonprofit civil rights organization that assists in getting detained immigrants access to legal counsel. The rapper is still dealing with his own ongoing legal battle with ICE, after being arrested in February and accused of being an illegal immigrant.

In a Chief Keef twist of events, thats that shit I do like! I would like any and all smoke with Sir Savage's music please my good sir. The new recently crowned King of England announced on his tour last night that he and super producer Metro Boomin' would be dropping a sequel album to their original Savage Mode that came out in 2016 and your boy is GIDDY about it. This is the tape that made me fall in love with 21 Savage. No Heart will never not get me fired up. It's the new age version of "Many Men" by 50 Cent. I'm not saying it's in the same class in terms of artistry and lyricism but it has that same genuine "I overcame all the obstacles in the world to get to this point and still have the balls to grab my nuts tell you to go fuck yourself or I'll fuck you up" kind of vibe. I don't care who you are or where you came from, I think most people can relate to that kind of authenticity in someones voice when you hear it. 21 really lived this life and It just slaps a little bit different when it comes from someone who is real over someone who's pretending to be something they're not. Not to mention that Metro Boomin' is arguably the best producer in the game right now and everything he touches turns to gold. He has the sound of right now in a headlock and has been a part of the huge swing in producers getting artist type credit which I think is well-deserved. Producers for years, especially in rap, have been overlooked and not given props for being such a bigger part of the creative process than people give them credit for. They literally make the beat for gods sake! Sometime with samples, sometimes out of thin air but regardless they take nothing and turn it into something special. It's the straw that stirs the drink. Every good song the second you hear that beat drop you know something dope is coming. I can't wait for this album to drop. If it's anything like the first I might fuck around and start Savage Saturdays. Stay Tuned.
