Elvis Has Been Cast And It Is NOT Miles Teller

(Deadline) “Director Baz Luhrmann has found his Elvis. He has set Austin Butler to play the starmaking role of Elvis Presley in the untitled drama that covers the seminal legend’s growth from dirt poor singer to global icon, seen through the prism of his complex relationship over two decades with manager Colonel Tom Parker. Latter role will be played by Tom Hanks and Warner Bros will distribute worldwide.”

I don’t really know a ton about Butler other than 1. He is dating Vanessa Hudgens and 2. He is not Miles Teller (verified by multiple sources). This role is going to demand a pretty heavy toll if they have him actually sing, so we will see if he is up to the task. As of now, I’m not thrilled as he sort of looks like a vine star you would see on a MagCon meetup poster.
