The 2019 MLB Future's Game Roster Is Set And It Is LOADED
This has turned into one of my favorite events of the baseball season over the course of the last few years. If you are a baseball fan, it’s straight up baseball pornography. It’s a collection of 50 of the best prospects in baseball and loaded with every tool in the baseball handbook.
Tools like power bats:
These are clips of some of the best raw power bats in the game right now in Nolan Gorman, Joey Bart and Jo Adell. I have personally seen Gorman play in HS and he has some of the best raw power you’ll ever see. He’s only 19 right now, already in HiA and has legit 40+ home run raw power. The dude’s built like a MLB. Think a frame similar to Mike Trout without the crazy athleticism.
Then we have Joey Bart, the best catching prospect in the game not named Adley Rutschman and Jo Adell has the best hit/power combo and is found in the 2nd clip. He’s in HiA as well and throwing together this decent slash line:
These are my three favorite ‘spects attending the game, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other players who can hit 450+ dingers with ease. And these will be facing….
Power arms:
Like MacKenzie Gore, who is my favorite pitching prospect in the game by FAR.
Gore sits 94-96 with his fastball and pairs it with a filthy changeup and breaking pitch. I remember watching him pitch in the Under Armour Game in his draft year and he was working off his changeup like he was goddamn Cole Hamels. Carl and I talk about changeups ad nauseam on Red Line Radio; if a pitcher can command that pitch with good fastball command, he’ll be successful. If he has a 15-17 MPH separation on it like Gore does, he’s going to be a TOR pitcher. If he can pair that with pinpoint command of a breaking pitch and work deep into games, he’ll be an All Star. Gore has put up freak show numbers so far this year:
and mind you, this stat line is in the HiA California League, a league that has teams located in mountains and deserts and shit, aka thin air/hitters paradise city. I’m guessing he’ll debut sometime next year and he’ll be a household name in due time.
White Sox Players:
I’ve talked non stop about Luis Robert:
and Nick Madrigal:
one having a good year, the other having an incredible year. Robert and Madrigal will both be in Chicago sometime in early 2020. Both are future cornerstones of what will be a team that contends for a division title for the 6-8 years at least. Both VERY different players.
Also, shoutout Alek Thomas:
The Chicago native and Mt. Carmel HS grad has been fantastic during his ascent through the D Backs system.
His old man is a strength coach for the White Sox and he hit a dinger against the Sox this spring mid-interview:
#heartwarming. I love seeing Chicago area guys in the Show. Thomas, Kipnis, Granderson, Nicky Lopez, Charlie Tilson and a few dozen more. Chicago and IL in general have turned into a really good HS baseball state.
So if you’re like watching pitchers who throw 97MPH with cut, hitters that can drop 450′ blasts seemingly on command, and outfielders that have line to line coverage, this game is for you. It’s not well publicized because MLB sucks ass at marketing their product, but tune in on July 7th. #BaseballPorn
