Apparently I Look Like Derek Jeter? That's What Other People Are Saying

OK, so I hate to bring this up. Did not plan on spending my Thursday afternoon responding to claims that I look like Derek Jeter. Got a lot going on and hate to take the time to do this, but I guess I have to. Do I look like Derek Jeter?

My latest Tommy’s Thursday Thoughts video got posted on the main Twitter account at 1:30 PM. Well at 1:38 PM Twitter user KG responded with the greatest tweet I’ve ever seen in my life.

He is referencing legendary Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. I guess we look so much alike that he thought it was him at first? Pretty wild stuff.

Some people are saying “He’s making fun of you moron” or “Maybe there’s an uglier Jeter he’s talking about.” But I refuse to believe that. Even if KG comes out and says “I was kidding,” I won’t believe it. Deep down, this guy thinks I look like Derek Jeter.

I get celebrity lookalikes a lot. Mostly Dave Franco. But this is the first Derek Jeter comparison I’ve seen. Honestly, deep down I’ve thought there was a slight resemblance for years but was afraid to say anything. But I guess my gut was right. Me and Derek Jeter are basically long lost brothers.

I guess it’s not THAT crazy? Jawlines seemingly carved by Michaelangelo himself. Beautiful eyes. Bigger noses. Athletic builds. Broad shoulders. He’s half black. I got a really nice tan this weekend. The list goes on.

When I woke up this morning, I did NOT think “Well I’m gonna spend my day talking about how much I look like Derek Jeter.” Just wasn’t part of my plans. But shit happens. And by “shit”, I mean a Twitter user with 14 followers left one possibly (but definitely not) sarcastic comment saying I look like Derek Jeter. I’d be doing a disservice to the people if I didn’t address these claims.

As any great journalist would, I did some further research. I put up an Instagram story to see if we’re twins and it seems like the majority agrees with KG.

There’s more people who think I look like Derek Jeter than people who don’t. And we have to assume most of the 43% No voters are doing a joke of some sort?
