Does This Look Like A Guy Who Would Demand A Public Apology From Ezekiel Elliott?

In case you missed it, Ezekiel Elliot got arrested at EDC for knocking a security guard down a couple of weeks ago.

Now before I even get into an update with this story, I’d like it on record that this is not a blog blindly defending Zeke because he plays for the Cowboys. He’s no stranger to finding himself in the wrong headlines and usually where there’s smoke, there’s fire. I don’t know him personally though, so I can’t speak on his side of things. And I don’t want to get into the DV stuff because it’s a nice Wednesday and nobody needs that heavy shit today.

(Side note: If you are a fan of a team, player or coach who is a proven criminal or bad person, you’re a real asshole if you just blindly support them without taking facts into consideration. Some things are bigger than sports. Looking at you Art Briles apologists.)

Anyway, back to the EDC security guard debacle. This kid Kyle Johnson went on TV in LA and is basically demanding a “sincere” apology.

Via KCBS-TV

“I wasn’t hurt or anything, but just to have someone that you looked up to shove you on the ground over a metal fence? It’s not the biggest thing in the world, but really, [to say] nothing happened? I mean, come on.”

“I did get an apology from him. It wasn’t a sincere apology. He didn’t maintain eye contact. It didn’t seem sincere at all.”

I mean… what are we talking about here? He didn’t maintain eye contact?! WHAT. This guy is acting like he got murdered. It was a minor shove. Get over it. I don’t even think this is an L either. I’d assume a normal night at work is pretty boring and you had one of the best backs in the game spice up your evening. Take it as a W. You could’ve been playing video games with Zeke if you played it cool.

Instead the next thing you know this guy will be asking for money and dropping his sound cloud link on Twitter.

Maybe it strikes a bigger chord because I can’t stand people who demand apologies. Call me crazy, but if the person doesn’t actually want to apologize, why would a fake apology do anything in the first place? And I damn sure won’t be publicly begging for one over something that couldn’t matter less.

Now again, the video wasn’t a fantastic look for Zeke. Being drunk, arguing with your girl in public and getting arrested is absolutely frowned upon. But this guy is a real loser for publicly begging for an apology from an NFL superstar after executing a Neymar-esque flop.

I hate 2019. Truly.
