As You'd Guess, Tim Anderson's New Adidas Commercial Is Awesome And People Are STILL Talking About Him

Tim Anderson is flipping the game on its head, both literally and figuratively.  He’s young, super attractive, and doesn’t give a fuuuuuuck about your unwritten rules.  The White Sox haven’t had much good press since Sale was traded, but Anderson was one of the main storylines over the 1st month and a half of the season, and rightfully so.  He’s been great on the field, better off it and infinitely entertaining both on/off it.

On the field:

.326/.359/.491 with an OPS of .850, 8 dingers, 13 SBs, a .166 ISO and 1.3 fWAR.  Now he’s safely in the Xander Boegarts/Jean Segura tier 2 of awesome shortstops, moving up from an average day player.  He’s not quite Andrelton Simmons or Corey Seager (not close yet, in fact) but he doesn’t need to be.  He just needs to keep playing great goddamn baseball and once this roster is complete, he’ll be a perfect middle of the order hitter in the 6-7 hole.

Off the field:

He’s donating $500 to charity every time he swipes a bag.  That’s awesome.  He’s also taking it upon himself to help promote the game to inner city youth, which isn’t dissimilar to the White Sox RBI initiative, or “Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities”.  Tim Anderson comes from a rougher background himself, and is doing everything in his power to help teach the less fortunate youth to use baseball as an outlet opposed to drugs, gangs, etc.  He has a voice and as a black man, south siders can and will look up to him.  He knows that, and is using his platform to bring the game to them:

He could be sitting at Bottled Blonde on game nights and impregnating every chick he sees while paying their “child support” in rolls of quarters, but he’s literally doing the complete opposite.

Entertaining on and off the field:

He has FUN playing an admittedly slow and boring game.  Baseball is an acquired taste – sure, it’s awesome going and slugging brews at any game, most people will enjoy that, but to really, truly love it is kind of bred into you.  Tim Anderson knows that, so he’s making a spectacle of it.

“Wanna throw an inner half fastball to me?  Okay sure, I’m hitting it to the moon and making you look like an asshole by flipping my bat.”  – Tim Anderson, probably.

I love that there’s contention in the game because of him right now.  For the first 8 weeks of the season, Tim Anderson was one of THE storylines.  Yes, because of his play, but also because of his WWE style “fuck you” attitude on the field.  It’s awesome.  And agree with him or disagree with him, the entire baseball world was talking about him:

To those who hate his style, I say this:  you have a big fat dump in your pants.  Fuck outta here with your old ass, boring ways.  Gimme bat flips, bean balls, pimp jobs and give them to me on the reg.

Keep doing you TA
