Interesting Game Of Thrones Theory: Bran Will Be A Far More Dangerous Ruler Than Dany Ever Would Have Been

Perhaps I’m something of a jilted lover, looking through the rubble of a ruined relationship and trying to find something to save it, but I fuck with this theory. I don’t even like to use the word theory here, because there’s a zero percent chance that Benioff and Weiss intended for viewers to think this, but it’s a cool way to imagine things happening. I don’t believe that Bran’s inaction or lack of use in nearly every scenario was a weapon he was wielding in order to lull everyone to sleep, it was just laziness in writing and a plot device the writers knew they could lean on when they needed a crutch, but still, WHAT IF….

As you will remember, and the texts above will remind you if not, when the lords at the council were talking of choosing future rulers to break the wheel none of them knew that the host of the Three Eyed Raven will live for thousands of years, only Bran knew that and didn’t speak up. Just like he didn’t speak up when he knew Dany would burn King’s Landing to the ground or when he knew Rhegal would get shot from the sky or when he knew everything else that ever happened would happen. So, essentially, they elected a god.

I disagree with the fact that Sansa knew he was evil and that’s why she said the North would remain independent, as long as I’m not mistake they’ve always been that so she was just keeping that status quo. But the rest of it checks out. They elected a creepy dude with a broken dick, as Sansa was so quick to tell the world, to be the god of Westeros. While he’s not a Targaryen, he’s got full control of dragons and can burn cities whenever he pleases.

Last night I was actually thinking about it in terms of modern technology and Bran is a spy network in and of himself. He doesn’t need to hack your phones or computers, he doesn’t need little birdies, Bran can spy on the citizens of Westeros whenever he feels. He can spy on his maester and Master of Coin and Hand and whoever he sees fit, as he sees fit.

Again, I don’t think any of this was intentional, in fact if it was their intention I think it makes the writing even worse because that wasn’t clear at all with the sitcom happy ending. But it’s fun to think that they elected the worst possible ruler, and not just because of how boring and hateable and weird he is, but because of how dangerous he is.

PS – I think this would make the Night King the hero since he’s also a greenseer and knew Bran’s intentions?
