"I'm Nawt Fuckin' Leaving" - Brett Brown, Essentially

Eastern Conference Semifinals - Philadelphia 76ers v Toronto Raptors

Marc Stein, you greasy little fuck, you. Step on up. This son of a bitch from the New York Times decides to drop this little nugget of shit right before Sixers vs Raptors game 7.

As if some jackass from New York would know what’s going on in Philly. But that’s just typical New Yorkers. They think they’re the greatest gift to the world, they think they run the show, they think they know everything. So Marc Stein says that Brett Brown is done if the Sixers lose game 7 in Toronto on Sunday night. The Sixers, unfortunately, did end up losing that game. And what happened after?

The show goes on!!!

Listen–is Brett Brown the greatest coach in NBA history? Probably not. But there are so many bozos out there who have been bitching and screaming about firing Brett Brown and then when you ask them about who they’d replace him with, they either have no answer or they say some idiotic shit like Mark Jackson and/or Jay Wright. First of all–no answer at all is infinitely better than Mark Jackson. And then Jay Wright is never leaving Villanova. Everybody wants to fire Brett Brown but nobody knows who they would replace him with. Then you get even more ridiculous reports flying around yesterday that the Sixers are going to trade Ben Simmons for LeBron James and then bring Ty Lue in as the next coach.

**Physically impossibly long fart noise**

Obviously there are plenty of adjustments that everybody on this team needs to make over the summer, and Brett Brown is no different. Joel needs to work on his conditioning, Ben needs to work on his shot, Elton Brand needs to convince Jimmy Butler to stick around, and then Brett Brown needs to stop being everybody’s best friend and start demanding a little more from his guys. The Sixers have a ton of work to do but all of those things are pretty realistic goals that they can all accomplish over the offseason. But bringing in an entirely new coach and fucking up any sort of stability that this team has going for them, and expecting that team to then go out and have another 50+ win season and come out as the Eastern Conference Champions? That’s asking a lot.

The players love and respect Brett Brown.

And then obviously it goes back the other way, too.

It just wouldn’t make sense to break that up all because Kawhi hit a circus shot at the buzzer. Now that’s not to say that Brett Brown shouldn’t be on a pretty short leash next season. But back-to-back 50+ win seasons with a team where his two biggest superstars aren’t even close to being fully developed? You give that guy one more chance to get it going and you absolutely, positively do not trade Ben Simmons for LeBron and then hire Ty Lue.

P.S. – These Sixers nicknames are getting difficult to keep up with. Like Elton “Definitely not Beefy, please do not call me Beefy” Brand.

Or Mike “Definitely not a bitch, do not ever call me a bitch” Scott.
