Game Of Thrones Is Setting Us Up For A BIG Cry, I Can Feel It In My Bones
Of all the things that went down last episode, Jon turning his back on Ghost and basically sending him to a farm up North with Tormund was the thing that universally upset everyone. How the fuck can Jon Snow, of all people, abandon his dog, man. You just don’t do that. So callous. Wouldn’t even pet him good bye. There’s no place in the south for a Dire wolf? How about right by your side, Jon? Fuck you. Just search #GhostDeservedBetter to get a taste
Here’s the thing though…there’s no way we’ve seen the last of Ghost. No way, no how. You think he survived the Battle of Winterfell to just live out his days playing in the snow? No chance. Look, right now Jon is all confused. He’s pussy whipped. He’s trying to live up to his oath he gave to Dany. He’s having an identity crisis because he found out that he’s a Targaryen. He’s about Dragons and not Dire wolves right now. That won’t last though. Rhaegar Targaryen might be Jon’s father, but Jon is Ned’s son. He is a Stark. And when he is on a path to rediscovering that fact and rediscovering his values, our friend Ghost will reappear to remind him of those things just when it matters most. And when that happens…it’s going to be water works across America. Personally…I am ready for it. Nothing gets me to cry more than the dog-boy/man reunion. 25+ years later and Shadow emerging from the woods all limping and dirty and exhausted only to run to his boy…god damn
One of the snot dripping everywhere ugly cries. Ditto for the ending of White Fang, my favorite movie as a kid.
If you don’t think we are getting a reunion that makes us cry well then you grew up with different movies than me. That dog is coming back and he is going to have a little doggy iron throne bed right next to Jon the way he always was meant to. Get your tissues ready.
