Who Will Be The #1 Pick In 2020? Odds Are Released With A Big Favorite
Unfortunately, it’s not Rodrigo or Jake Fromm’s mom:
I’m a big Tua guy. Not a lot of people have the thought process that he’s a gimmick of any kind, but those who are I will happily debate. With that being said, I was surprised to see him open as a 1/2 (-200) favorite to be the #1 pick in the 2020 draft. Of course, these are opening odds with, I assume, incredibly small limits, but Tua being the commanding #1 pick according to the odds is still a shock to me. My guess would’ve been:
Tua -125
Jake Fromm 2/1
Justin Herbert 4/1
With all that being said, that’s why I write the blogs and the good folks over at Westgate set the lines.
If I were to bet it, I would take Jake Fromm 6/1. I think he has a chance to take Georgia to the CFP and win a national championship. Plus, he’s 2 inches taller than Tua (6’0 2/8 compared to 6’2+). Not that height matters as much as it once did.
Both are phenomenal options for whatever teams have down years in 2019. Fromm just strikes me as a guy who’d go #1, especially when he has this amount of cockiness:
Here is McShay’s too early mock:
Can’t forget about Herbert either.
