Peter Mayhew, Star Wars' Original 'Chewbacca', Has Passed Away

Fuck, man. This news really stinks.

Peter Mayhew, if you’re unaware, was the actor behind Chewbacca in the original three Star Wars films, as well as the Star Wars Holiday Special, a decent chunk of ‘The Force Awakens’ back in 2015, and a brief cameo in ‘Revenge of the Sith’ fifteen or so years ago. He brought Chewie to life as everybody’s favorite Wookiee, and was as passionate about the role – and the ‘Star Wars’ franchise – as anybody on this planet. In the past decade or so, he ran the convention circuit and met thousands upon thousands of fans, and had the reputation for being the sweetest, most caring human in the galaxy.

Only having two of the folks in this photo still here with us really hurts.
