No Photoshops Needed! Agents Think It's Just A Matter Of Putting 'Pen To Paper' For Durant To Join The Knicks
[ESPN] - It’s easier to find street parking in Manhattan than it is to find an NBA executive, player or coach who doesn’t think Durant is going to sign with the Knicks in July.
Some of Durant’s former teammates think it’s going to happen, per ESPN sources. Several of his current teammates have told friends that they think it’s going to happen, sources said. Opposing agents believe it’s a fait accompli: “Just a matter of putting pen to paper,” is how one agent of another top free agent in the 2019 free agent class put it.
The year is 2019 and us Knicks fans are ready to play our favorite game.
But perhaps that was in the past. Perhaps this is the new year. This is the year that good things happen to the Knicks. I mean we’re sending Patrick Ewing to the lottery. That’s a step in the right direction. They have an encouraging rookie class. That’s a massive step in the right direction. They have money to spend.
That’s terrifying.
But look at that quote again and tell me you can’t get fired up reading that. I mean Durant’s TEAMMATES are saying he’s ready to go the Knicks. Other agents think it’s as simple as just getting the pen to the paper. It’s verbally done. Now, where I come from I always lived by a man is only as good as his word. Which means Durant has to be a Knick now.
Sure we’ve been down this road before. The toast at the wedding that was going to land LeBron and Chris Paul in New York. LeBron all the time actually. There’s always a rumor that some star is going to come and save the Knicks franchise. Well, this time is different. I actually believe this one to be true. And it’s not because I’m dumb and I’ve been hurt by the Knicks and the Giants drafting Daniel Jones. Not at all.
It’s because Kevin Durant is crazy enough to do this. He’s also the same person who reads and listens to every single thing about him. You know what Knicks will do? Love him unconditionally. We’ll do anything to keep him happy. The entire city of New York (even Brooklyn), the entire state of New York, the entire state of New Jersey will back Kevin Durant.
Now hit me with those photoshops:
I’m ready to not get hurt.
