The Cast Of "Empire" Wrote A Letter To Kim Foxx And The Smollett Case Has Become So Ridiculous That It's Officially Funny
(Chicago Tribune)–“Dear Charlie, Dana, Michael, Lee, Danny, Francie, Brian, Sanaa, Dennis, and Brett,
Together, as a united front, we stand with Jussie Smollett and ask that our co-star, brother and friend be brought back for our sixth season of Empire.
We understand the past months have been difficult to process–sometimes the headlines brought more confusion than clarity, yet we now have a conclusion to this ordeal. Throughout Empire’s five seasons working with Jussie and watching how he has conducted himself throughout this traumatic event, we have come to know not just the character Jussie portrays, but also truly come to know Jussie’s personal character. He is kind. He is compassionate. He is honest and above all he is filled with integrity. He is also innocent and no longer subject to legal uncertainty with the criminal charges against him having been dropped. We are confident in his lawyer’s assurance that the case was dismissed because it would not have prevailed.
Jussie has shown us on and off the set who he really is as a leader. In addition to being a caring friend and cast member who treats every crew member with love and respect, he has spent time with our families and individually supported each of us. “
According to his cast mates Jussie Smollett is a hard worker, charitable, and a leader. Well hey ummm none of that shit matters. He lied to the police and invented a fake hate crime and avoided prosecution only through some other bullshit. So, sorry, that doesn’t really jive with the whole “honest and filled with integrity” part of your letter.
This story just will NOT die and gets utterly more absurd every single passing day. This week alone started with the news that Kim Foxx was receiving death threats
And look that is absolutely horrible. Kim Foxx should probably be prosecuted or fired or whatever is the standard punishment for her actions. She should absolutely in no way have her life threatened or be harrassed over her poor judgement regarding the Smollett case. Having said that…I think everyone, somewhere in places they don’t talk about at parties, at least 1% of their brain did the Jon Hamm nod.gif.
Then later that day it broke that Kim Foxx was recusing herself again because she thought it was a good idea to take a selfie with Chicago Community Activist Jedediah Brown…the guy who she was supposed to be prosecuting
If you’re getting those charges dropped for punching a police officer say cheeeeesssseeee!
I don’t know who Kim Foxx aside from her role in the Smollett shit. She is probably very intelligent, but man…her basic judgement and ethics appear to stink outloud.
We aren’t done though. Remember those poor Nigerian brothers who, more than anyone involved in this case, are “innocent”…well they might not be poor for very long because…THEY’RE SUING FOR DEFAMATION DAMAGES!

They say they maliciously defamed them during Smollett’s criminal case
The brothers claim Smollett paid them to beat him up on January 29
They say he used his position as a star to take advantage of them because they wanted to ‘make it’ in Hollywood and thought he could help them
On April 6, one of Smollett’s lawyers said in a podcast that Abel spent the night at Smollett’s apartment
They say that by claiming as such, she put them in danger in Nigeria where same sex relationships are illegal
The brothers told police about the alleged plot in February which is what led to Smollett’s arrest
The charges against Smollett were dropped last month despite prosecutors saying they still believe he is guilty
Glandian and Geragos called the document ‘comical’ as they dismissed it

The entire case has been a circus the entire time and I think it has officially crossed over from something that would make the general population extremely angry to one that just makes you throw your hands up and laugh because around every corner is another proposterous headline.
