Holly Rowe Presenting UK Football Player Josh Paschal An Award For Battling Cancer Will Tug On Your Heartstrings

This was by far the best thing I’ve seen in the last couple of days in the sports world. Sometimes it just takes a good cry. Remember, Jim Valvano said the 3 things you need to do every day is laugh, think and cry. Knocked the crying portion out fairly early today.

Paschal was diagnosed with malignant melanoma back in August right before the season started. Paschal was a 4-star recruit from Maryland who picked Kentucky over Notre Dame and Penn State and had a strong freshman year with 3.5 sacks and playing in all 13 games.

Incredibly he returned in November against Middle Tennessee State after being cleared to play. He’s still battling the disease and going through treatments as you can hear in the video above. Holly Rowe is also a cancer survivor who has been public about her battle.

I highly recommend watching the video. It’s awesome to see as sometimes I feel like we forget these kids are just that – college kids. No one should have to battle cancer like that.
