With all the excitement from this past weekend, maybe you weren’t aware of what also debuted. Showtime finally put out their Boogie documentary and I must say it was absolutely incredible. Granted, I’m a HUGE sucker for these type of documentaries and have yet to find one that I didn’t like. A few weeks ago we got the Giannis one that was awesome even if you knew his story. The Derrick Rose one was some of the realest and moving shit I’d ever seen, and you bet your ass I’m excited for the Ron Artest one that’s set to come out at the end of next month

But back to Boogie. Hopefully you have Showtime and if not hopefully your parents do so you can login under their account because whether you’re a Kings/Pelicans/Warriors fan or just a basketball fan in general you will love this documentary. It basically follows Boogie from the day he got hurt to the day he made his debut this year in GS, and you get a great look at what went into that rehab and the entire process. After watching what Boogie went through and the work that he had to put in just to fucking walk, I wouldn’t wish that achilles injury on my worst enemy. I also thought it was a very interesting look into Boogie the person, because honestly when you think of Boogie you think of his techs and being kind of a dick on the basketball court. Even if you don’t necessarily love Boogie, you’ll walk out of that documentary with a different outlook on him, I know I did. Boogie may be the most understood star player in the league in my opinion and when you think about it every time we’ve seen him in a good environment, there’s been no issues. Obviously SAC doesn’t fit that description and a lot of what went down was out of his control.

It was definitely fascinating to see how everything went down with the Warriors too. We all remember the reaction when that news broke, so it was awesome to see it from the other side and what went into making that pipe dream a reality. Once you get to that part of the story, you really can’t blame Boogie for what he did. People said he ruined the NBA and that it wasn’t fair, but honestly hearing him talk about it I found myself agreeing with his reasoning.

I just wanted to make sure the stoolies knew that this came out and if you’re looking for something to kill in between playoff games or while we all wait for the next Thrones episode, I can’t recommend this documentary enough. I know I may be a bit biased because I love this kind of shit, but it really was well done.
