Movie Theater Is In Hot Water For Showing Trailers To Horror Movies Before Peppa Pig

BBC - Trailers for horror films were played before a screening of the children’s film Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun.

Families at the Empire Cinema in Ipswich said their children were left in tears after seeing adverts for psychological horror Ma and scary superhero flick Brightburn.

Parents took their children from the auditorium until the trailers stopped.

Empire Cinemas has apologised for “any distress caused” and said it is investigating.

The trailer for Ma features dead bodies, sexual violence and a man being hit by a car, while Brightburn features a child with a scary mask as well as blood and violence.

I know people are going to think that I’m going to talk about the pussification of America and how these kids need to toughen up, but I’m actually going to go the opposite way. The pussification of America is for kids that don’t want to play dodgeball in grammar school.

This is mildly reasonable to be a lil hot about. Now before you hit me with the “Oh, Eddie stop being a pussy” let me ask you if you’ve ever been sitting at home watching something on your laptop right before bed only to get hit with an Annabelle trailer.

I know you have and it’s terrible.

You think you’re about to just watch one more Joe Rogan clip before getting a nice nights rest only to be rocked by that creepy doll image that none of us wanted to see.

If we didn’t want that shit while we’re watching clips on the internet than these kids for sure didn’t want it as they sat there in the dark in their Peppa Pig onesies.

Here’s the movie trailers they saw:

(Sidenote: ‘MA’ has gotta be the most realistic horror movie of all time. Everybody knows the struggle of trying to find a place to booze when they were in high school. Sometimes you gotta turn a blind eye to a serial killer so you can drink a 30 of Icehouse in her basement. Coulda happened to the best of us.)

I could see how ‘Brightburn’ could get kids just a little bit rattled.

My only other resolution to this saga is for these parents to do their damn job and cover their kids eyes. That move has been pulled since the beginning of time and you gotta know when to do it. I don’t care if it’s a scary movie or a tit scene it’s on the parent to act quick in these situations.

Be an adult.

Final Verdict: You don’t want to get rump roast when you’re expecting filet mignot (shout out, Jim) so we can’t give these kids horror movies when they’re expecting Peppa Pig. BUT, it’s not the end of the damn world. Just cover the kids eyes.
