This is, in Twitter video form, the perfect illustration of what I was saying only just yesterday. That if I was an NFL agent with a veteran client, I’d call the Patriots and beg them to take my guy for one year, at the minimum if necessary. Let him go to that system, take that coaching and make a Super Bowl run. Then sit back and wait for the offers to pour in from teams handing me blank checks just to gene-splice some of the Pats DNA into their locker room.

The management philosophy Bill Belichick installed as soon as he unpacked the boxes he carried into his new office in early 2000. Revis. Collins. Jones. Ryan. Butler. Garoppolo. Cooks. Lewis. Hicks. Amendola. Solder. Brown. Flowers. And those are all just since 2015. You could go all the way back as far as Lawyer Milloy and add dozens of names to this list.

It’s what the guys like Lou Merloni and Felger & Mazz don’t get when they’re sarcastically shooting snot rockets at Patriots fans for going along with everything Belichick does without getting mad about losing a guy like Trey Flowers. We’re not flipping out because we’ve seen this before. Almost too many times to count. Last year alone they lost four starters to free agency and traded another and upgraded all five positions and won the Super Bowl. And you just saw 13 players hitting the market and making about a trillion dollars. While the Pats have the most draft picks in the league and their entire rookie class from last year returning like redshirted freshmen.
