Andre Ingram, The 32 Year Old Lakers Rookie, Is Back To The NBA And His Reaction Is Awesome

There are some things you just can’t hate on, no matter what team you love or hate. This is one of them. Andre Ingram, who won America over last year as a 32-year old rookie making his debut, is back on a 10-day contract.

Coley summed up the G League perfectly before:

The G League isn’t quite as daunting a grind as baseball’s minor leagues – the impossibly long seasons filled with coach bus rides from small town to small town throughout the course of a hot summer for minimum wage – but the G League has inarguably been a far less fruitful path to the highest level of their respective sports. While that’s mostly due to its relative infancy, you’re more likely to bounce around Europe or China and catch the eye of a GM to get a shot in the Association. The G League has been great for taking NBA Draft picks and giving them a place to get consistent reps rather than rotting at the end of a professional bench in a suit and tie.

It’s true. I’ve been fortunate enough to get to know guys that are either coaching or who have played in the G League. It’s an absolute grind. That’s part of what makes Ingram’s story so damn awesome and easy to cheer for. 10 years grinding in the G League and he shows up last year and plays out of his mind. Now, he’s back for the end of the year again (which most importantly means some extra money in his pocket).

You can tell his reaction is so genuine as his teammates. Look at this:

That’s pure joy on everyone’s face. Finding out you’re going to the NBA while in the airport getting ready for another game on tired legs is something that’s just so cool. There’s something just pure about this.

Needless to say I’ll be cheering for the guy who tutors kids in calculus in the offseason. Hope he balls out.
