The Woman Who Founded the Day Spa Mr. Kraft Went to is Sort of a Friend of Trump

SourceSeated at a round table littered with party favors and the paper-cutout footballs that have become tradition at his annual Super Bowl Watch Party, President Donald Trump cheered the New England Patriots and his longtime friend, team owner Robert Kraft, to victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Feb. 3.

Sometime during the party at Trump’s West Palm Beach country club, the president turned in his chair to look over his right shoulder, smiling for a photo with two women at a table behind him.

The woman who snapped the blurry Super Bowl selfie with the president was Li Yang, 45, a self-made entrepreneur from China who started a chain of Asian day spas in South Florida. Over the years, these establishments — many of which operate under the name Tokyo Day Spas — have gained a reputation for offering sexual services.

Yang says she had long since sold Orchids of Asia Day Spa. … Yang, who goes by Cindy, was not charged in the multi-agency anti-human trafficking operation last month that shut down 10 Asian day spas in Florida, none of which are registered to her or her family. …

Yang has shown considerable political largesse. Since 2017, she and her close relatives have contributed more than $42,000 to Trump Victory, a political action committee, and more than $16,000 to the president’s campaign. …

On rubmaps.com, one comment warns that “your mileage may vary” at Tokyo Day Spas, meaning sex may not be available depending on the therapist.

“Been here many times, some play, some don’t,” a man wrote in 2016.

But others raved.

“I had one of those toe curling experiences,” a reviewer said. …

In September 2018, Yang received a personalized note from the president and first lady. It read: “Thank you for your friendship and dedication to our cause. Leaders like you in Florida are the key to fulfilling our bold agenda to Make America Great Again!”

Trump 2

Frankly, I’m surprised this took two weeks. From the very beginning of this non-scandal, Trump’s name has been brought into it. Trump is friends with Kraft. Mar-a-Lago is five miles from the Orchids of Asia. Billionaires all talk to each other. Adam Schefter said there’d be a bigger name attached to this.

Well finally, they’ve got The Donald. He … let’s see, he’s guilty of … taking pictures with a big campaign donor that he invited to the huge Super Bowl party he throws every year for all the high rollers at his country club. And she made her money opening Asian day spas where you may or may not be able to get a Rub & a Tug, depending on whether the adult person giving you the massage is willing. And that have gotten a mixed Yelp reviews from the handjob aficiondos who rate their orgasms on rubmaps.com.

Is that pretty much it? Oh, the horror. You can just feel the foundation our democracy being shaken. I just don’t see how the republic can survive a scandal of this magnitude.

One this non-story does is point out one of Mr. Kraft’s greatest crimes in all this: Being friends with the President of the United States of America. Old friends. From back in the days when The Donald was just a celebrity real estate developer, reality TV star and garden variety fame whore. As well as the friend who called Mr. Kraft every single day for months after he lost his wife to cancer. To some people, you can be friends with Snoop Dogg and Elton John and get Meek Mill out of jail and do business with politicians from both ends of the political spectrum. But being loyal to a guy who was there in your hour of need is an unpardonable sin.

So they dug and kept digging until they found some connection between a 77-year-old widower getting a happy ending from a 58-year-old (allegedly) until they could find some thread to connect it to POTUS. And this is it. The lady who hasn’t owned the place in years, isn’t in the business at all any more and not in trouble with the law is a MAGA person. So it’s practically like Trump was in the room with Kraft, right?

There’s an old Italian curse that says “May you live in interesting times.” We sure do.
