"From The Dog House To The Pent House" Northeastern Wins Their Second Straight Beanpot
Oh how the tides have changes. Northeastern has just won back-to-back Beanpot titles for the first time since 1985. The Huskies took down the BC Eagles 3-2 in the Championship game at the TD Garden tonight and I must say…..it may be time to consider this Northeastern program a wagon.
The win puts them at 17-9-1 on the year but more importantly the program is sollifying itself as a legit hockey program. A school that used to be looked at as the joke of the beanpot now is the champ for the 2nd straight year.
Great game from both teams, an absolute battle that came down to the wire. Hell of a performance from both tendies too. Cayden Primeau and Jospeh Woll will both be starters in the NHL someday, and they showed it tonight. Primeau had 33 saves and stopped 59 of 62 shots throughout the tournament, definitely worthy of an MVP performance.
Tyler Madden with a great move to set up Northeastern’s second of the game too. The Canucks prospect pulled of the nice toe drag to set up Patrick Schule with his 9th of the season.
Big win for the Huskies and their program as a whole and great to see the Beanpot back on Huntington Ave. for the 2nd year in a row. Have a night tonight, fellas. You deserve it.
