Delta Is Encouraging You To Fuck People On Your Flight

NY Post - Delta Air Lines took creepiness to new heights by handing out Diet Coke napkins that invited passengers to give their numbers to fellow fliers for some flirting at cruising altitude.

“Be a little old school. Write down your number and give it to your plane crush. You never know…” reads one napkin, according to INSIDER.

“Because you’re on a plane full of interesting people and hey… you never know,” another one says, along with space to scribble your name and phone number.

But the misguided matchmaking promotion – a collaboration between Delta and Diet Coke on US flights – took off like a lead balloon, with passengers taking to social media to complain about the napkins.

The airline has apologized for the napkin fiasco.

I “get” why people complained about this. I “get” why people called it creepy. But honestly, Delta did nothing wrong here.

Who among us has not fallen in love in an airport or on an airplane? It’s one of those *relatable* things that everyone has felt but most people never talk about besides to a few buddies. There’s just something about when you’re sitting on an airplane and a cute girl walks by and you’re like “there she is, that’s the one” and then you literally never see her again. It’s like when your brain fucks with you while you’re sleeping and makes up the perfect girl in your dreams, and then you wake up and you’re depressed for the next week.

So Delta decided, hey, we’re all adults here, and gave everyone the little extra shove to slip a girl/guy your number. I don’t see the problem with that. Surprisingly, people do that in real life. Not people like me with zero confidence, but there are people who actually approach strangers, strike up a conversation, and get their number. Wild, I know.

And what’s the worst that happens? You give the cute girl in seat 12D your number and she never texts? C’est la vie. But at least you tried. And who knows, maybe she was scribbling her number on a napkin for you, and next thing you know you’re joining the mile high club (or going out on a date, depending on how long the flight is and/or what sort of person you are).

Sure, Delta should have known there would be massive amounts of blowback for this because everything these days is controversial. But if them helping people try to find love/get laid is wrong, then they don’t want to be right.
