Gandolfini’s son gets the nod to play the role that earned his dad a Golden Globe, 3 SAG Awards, 3 Emmys, and an eventual heart attack.

I think Ice Cube’s kid did a fine job playing his dad in Straight Outta Compton, but I am hesitant to believe this young man will be able to match the mouth breathing and murderous gindaloon character his father pulled off with such ease.

I am not overly excited for The Sopranos movie.  Partially because I was so disappointed with the way the show had ended, but also because this prequel is an absolute jump ball without the benefit of the show’s stellar original cast.

If you want to cast kids as their parents I have a couple of recommendations.

Reese Witherspoon’s 18-year old daughter, Ava…

Who at this point, can be called Reese Without-Her-Spoon because she is a dead ringer for her mom.

And I think Zöe Kravitz has the benefit of not only looking like her mom…

… but also having. mom who spent an inordinate amount of time with Cosby “back in the day.”

That afternoon special probably writes itself.
