Brian Baldinger's Breakdown Of The Patriots Yesterday Has Me Ready To Play The Super Bowl Today

Sneaky my favorite part of this football season has been waking up Monday mornings, opening up Twitter and going directly to Brian Baldinger’s timeline to see what really happened the day before. I think next year I’m going to buy a projector and a high school desk with the chair attached and use a notebook to jot down tendencies because he makes me feel like I’m in the coach’s room every time he starts dissecting blocking schemes.

It’s just nice knowing exactly how the Patriots executed their wins. It’s like knowing what the Mona Lisa and Starry Night are but getting a tour of the Louvre hosted by da Vinci and Picasso, explaining to me why certain paints were used and how different strokes were calculated and not just happenstance.

Like I know that Kyle Van Noy was a monster yesterday, now I know how he accomplished it. I know that Tyreek Hill was rendered useless yesterday, now I know how Devin McCourty was actually the best safety of all time during that game. I know that Brian Flores is a helluva defensive coordinator. Now I know to fear and respect him as the Dolphins head coach because he might break out a two man front with four linebackers out of the clear blue sky despite no one in the world playing defense like that anymore.

I hate to correct Baldy here but Dee Ford actually made one of the biggest plays of the game when he lined up wildly offsides. Just trying to give credit where it’s due.

Tom is such a tricky little minx. These plays are exactly why I tune in to these breakdowns. To watch Brady clown defenders with slight of hand and pump fakes that open up massive running lanes. And to watch Edelman put his head into a safety’s chest from an angle I had not yet seen.
