Last Night's Chris Cornell Tribute Concert Looked Amazing

Last night, the remaining members of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple Of The Dog, and some friends – Foo Fighters, Metallica, The Melvins, Rita Wilson, Nikka Costa and Alain Johannes, Chris Stapleton, Josh Homme, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, and Stone Gossard, Miley Cyrus, Toni Cornell and Ziggy Marley, and Ryan Adams – gathered at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA, to honor the life, legacy, and music of one Chris Cornell, and from the videos I’ve seen today, it appears they did just that.

Cornell was one of a kind, a once-in-human-history level rock n’ roll vocalist, who fronted the first three bands I listed above (Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple Of The Dog), if you were unaware, and tragically took his own life on May 18th, 2017, but last night proved that the lasting impact he had on this world and so many people in it will live on forever.

From the brash, in-your-face performance of “Show Me How To Live” by the supergroup of Dave Grohl, Robert Trujillo, and Audioslave, to the more toned down performances like Adam Levine’s “Seasons”, Miley Cyrus’ “Say Hello 2 Heaven”, it was pretty amazing to see how many people admired Cornell and how much variety his musical career had to offer.

Plus, it was just fucking awesome to watch bands like the Foo Fighters and Metallica cover some truly rockin’ Soundgarden shit.

It’s pretty fair to say the night’s emotional climax hit when Chris’ daughter, Toni, came out to cover Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” with Ziggy Marley…

…a song that Chris himself loved so much.

Below, I’ve included the full concert, or at least the fullest version of it I have been able to find today, so kick back, relax, and enjoy the sweet tunes of Chris Cornell tonight, performed by some of his nearest and dearest friends.

We miss you, Chris.
