STAMFORD — Shippan resident and “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen has been accused of bouncing checks and failing to pay for $13,000 worth of marketing materials he received from a local vendor. Hansen, 59, was charged Monday with issuing a bad check and released after signing a written promise to appear in court. Hansen did not immediately return a call Tuesday for comment. Weird. What a weird way to get popped for bouncing checks. $13,000 on ceramic mugs and t shirts and stickers presumably with his face on them.

I gotta be honest, I was thrilled when I read that Chris Hansen got arrested for bouncing checks. Well I wasn’t thrilled that he got arrested but I was thrilled about what he got arrested for. It would’ve been a REAL bummer if he had gotten arrested for trying to elicit sex from a minor over the internet. I don’t want to live in a world where the guy who dunked on so many sexual predators is a sexual predator himself. Luckily we don’t live in that world. The guy who dunked on so many sexual predators just sucks at managing his finances.
