Stephen Colbert Asked 50 Cent To Say One Nice Thing About Ja Rule

It never ceases to amaze me how the 50 Cent/Ja Rule beef is still a topic of conversation all these years later. It’s been 20 years! The people who were born the year the beef started are about to be old enough to drink alcohol. That’s how long ago the beef started and Fiddy is still getting asked questions about it on late night TV shows. I don’t want to it to sound like I’m complaining because I’m not at all. Quite the opposite actually. The fact that Stephen Colbert asked 50 Cent to say one nice thing about Ja Rule warms my hip hop heart.

50 Cent’s answer was very good. It’s super mean to say the best thing somebody has going for them is that they’re alive. Simply being alive is pretty boilerplate when it comes to good things. It happens to be true in regards to Ja Rule and his life though. Ja Rule exists in a strange world where his best days are loooooooooooooong behind him. He will never ever be as poppin as he once was. You might be saying, “Well the same is true about 50 Cent” and you’d be sorta right in terms of music. The difference is that 50 is still rich and very relevant in things other than music. He has multiple thriving business ventures, he’s a fantastic actor and he’s involved with an uber popular TV show on Starz. Ja Rule just sits around with his dick in his hand.
