Attorney Ripped For Quoting 'Animal House' During Mueller Proceedings

From the Associated Press:

A federal judge on Monday reprimanded an attorney for a Russian company accused of interfering in the 2016 presidential election, saying his references to Looney Tunes and “Animal House” in recent court filings are inappropriate.

U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich confronted attorney Eric Dubelier after his most recent court filing included quotes from the raunchy 1978 comedy “Animal House” to criticize special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

The quote in his filing this time?

“The Special Counsel’s argument is reminiscent of Otter’s famous line, ‘Flounder, you can’t spend your whole life worrying about your mistakes! You f(asterisk)(asterisk)ked up . . . you trusted us. Hey, make the best of it,’” Dubelier wrote, using stars to censor the profanity.

“I’ll say it plain and simply: Knock it off,” the judge told Dubelier. The judge’s reprimand prompted a heated back-and-forth in which Dubelier accused Friedrich of bias.

“Your Honor, that’s your opinion,” Dubelier fired back.

That was genuinely his response. And another possible movie reference perhaps??

Dubelier has mounted a combative defense of Concord Management and Consulting LLC, which Mueller has accused of funding a large-scale Russian conspiracy to use internet trolls and fake social media accounts to sway American public opinion during the 2016 election. His past court filings have quoted the movie “Casablanca” and the Looney Tunes character Tweety Bird to slam Mueller.

Concord – the troll farm Dubelier is defending – is controlled by Yevgeny Prigozhin AKA “Putin’s Chef”, a man as wealthy as he is shady. He started out as a hot dog salesman & rose in the restarauntur ranks until he owned his own string of hot spots frequented by Putin, where they soon became pals & confidantes.

If you’re looking to go down a rabbit hole tonight, take a glimpse into his life. He, his company & his cohorts have been slapped with criminal charges & sanctions here in the U.S. and he’s got his hands in a lot of interesting ventures & activities, including possible links to the murder of journalists & control of Syrian oil fields.

However the trial turns out, odds are good we can expect more cinema-related jabs from Dubelier in defense of “The Chef”.
