Mega Church Pastor In Hot Water After Gifting His Wife A $200,000 Lamborghini
Source - The pastor of a church in South Carolina is passionately defending the purchase of $200,000-plus Lamborghini for his wife, saying “not a nickel, not a penny” of donated money financed the fancy ride.
Pastor John Gray of the Relentless Church in Greenville defended buying the extravagant ride for his wife and fellow preacher, Aventer Gray, in an emotional 23-minute video posted last week after he was criticized for the eight-year wedding anniversary gift.
“First of it all, it wasn’t a pastor that bought the car,” Gray said in the video before removing the hood of his sweatshirt. “It was a husband that bought the car. Get that in your spirit, I’m a husband first — don’t confuse what I do with who I am. What I do is I pastor God’s people. Who I am is a husband and a father and I’ll do anything to honor them and I won’t ask permission from anybody to do it. No man should.”
Gray emphatically denied that any church funds were used to buy the Lamborghini, saying it was instead financed on the success of his reality show on the Oprah Winfrey Network, “The Book of John Gray,” as well as his second book. Gray also has “other streams” of income and has been smart with his savings and investments, he said.
If I could go back and start my career over again, I’d get into preaching. Not regular preaching, though, “Mega Church” preaching. Those guys are literally rock stars. Joel Osteen, the guy who looks like Fire Marshall Bill, sells out a sixteen-thousand-person arena every. single. week. He also owns a yacht called the “SS Blessed” and has a net worth of over fifty-fucking-million dollars. All because he’s good at talking. I hate him so much, but I respect his hustle. He’s elevated his career to the point where little old ladies all over the world are shelling out cash in the name of the Lord. And that cash lands in his pocket.
This guy is no different. He’s not quite Osteen level, but he’s getting there. Which is why it made me so happy to see him exposed for the bullshit artist that he is. I’m sure whoever filmed that video is dead but talk about a massive lapse in judgment on his part. Not only did he gift his wife the car, he had someone upload it to social media.
And for the record, he 100% used church funds to buy that car. If I was one of his disciples I’d be pissed. Even after this spin job.
“First of it all, it wasn’t a pastor that bought the car,” Gray said in the video before removing the hood of his sweatshirt. “It was a husband that bought the car. Get that in your spirit, I’m a husband first — don’t confuse what I do with who I am. What I do is I pastor God’s people.”
“The pastor didn’t buy that car…the husband did.” Unreal. If you feel like wasting twenty-three minutes of your life here’s his whole rant. John Gray ladies and gentleman.
