Stephen Jackson Absolutely Eviscerates Luke Walton And Says LeBron Is Doing All The Lakers Coaching
Long story short, Stephen Jackson says he doesn’t respect Luke Walton because he played against him and takes a shot at his playing career. He also says he’d rather play for Doc Rivers than Walton and ultimately says that LeBron is doing all of the coaching for the Lakers right now.
First off, I’m terrified to say anything negative about Stephen Jackson. He’s near the top of the list of guys I don’t want mad at me and am terrified of. But, this is a bit of a stretch. He says he’s not a fan of Walton because he played against him. But, let’s not act like Doc was some unbelievable player either. Sure, he was good and had a solid career, but Walton didn’t suck.
As for the charges that LeBron is coaching the Lakers. Sure, there is some belief to that. I mean there was the story that came out that said LeBron basically doesn’t look over for play calls when he’s the primary ball handler. It was also discussed that both parties are fine with this and discussed it. They say it’s because LeBron just has the basketball IQ to see what’s going on during the game and call a play himself. Needless, to say it’s working with the Lakers sitting at 17-10.
I’ll give Walton credit here. The Lakers were put together with some holes and questions. They had to find a way to integrate all these new parts and yeah, sure, having LeBron tends to help there, but Walton is doing a better job with rotations and those other coaching strategies that Jackson won’t give him credit for.
It’s hilarious to listen to guys like Jackson though. I’ll give Jackson credit for this. He’s willing to speak whatever is on his mind and backs it up with what he believes. There’s something special to that. We see him go after guys, remember the whole Andrew Wiggins situation.
