VTG- A custodian at Harwood Union High School was cited on misdemeanor charges Wednesday for allegedly writing “I am going to kill you all” on a mirror in a boys bathroom using liquid soap. Dick Peck, 51, of Moretown was cited for misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and creating a false public alarm, police said in a statement released Wednesday evening. He is set to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Barre on Thursday. Police were notified of the threat on Tuesday night. According to a press release sent to parents and other community members Wednesday, it was also Peck who “discovered” the message. “It saddens me to report that this evening an arrest has been made by the Vermont State Police of that custodian,” said the statement from Brigid Nease, superintendent of the Harwood Unified Union School District. That message did not name Peck. Nease said that the administration, together with police, interviewed 60 people during the brief investigation into the threat.

I’m sure we can all think of a million reasons why a high school janitor would write, “I’M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL” on a bathroom mirror. Being a janitor at a high school has to be a top-7 most miserable job in the world. Nobody grows up dreaming about one day becoming a janitor in the first place and if you’re a high school janitor then you’re constantly around kids who have their entire lives ahead of them. Being surrounded by so much promise and hope has to drive a high school janitor crazy eventually. It seems like Tuesday was the day this janitor finally snapped and let the world know how he feels.

Not to mention this scene from the classic film Jie Dirt comes to mind

The writing on the bathroom mirror makes even more sense when you factor in the janitor’s name

Dick Peck, 51, of Moretown was cited for misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and creating a false public alarm, police said in a statement released Wednesday evening.

Dick Peck! That’s brutal. Dick Peck has the worst parents in the world. Naming your kid Richard Peck is giving him a social death sentence. If you think the high school kids didn’t mock janitor Dick Peck for his name then you must’ve been home schooled because they 100% made fun of him for it. High schoolers look for anything and everything to make fun and Dick Peck is the biggest softball imaginable. So yeah, Dick Peck probably shouldn’t have threatened to kill everyone in the school but I can at least understand why he feels that way.

You know a janitor who would never do this? Clem Doore. He had a heart of gold despite being an ex mobster
