Now That the Chiefs Waived Him, Kareem Hunt Apologizes for That Act of Violence 9 Months Ago

OK. So as long as Kareem Hunt is apologizing now, and the Kansas City Chiefs are doing the right thing now, then we’re all good, right? I mean, it’s not like they’ve been lying for the nine months between February when he beat the bag out of a defenseless woman and today when the video of the incident was leaked, right? Hunt deeply regrets what he did. Clark Hunt reminded us Hunt is a young man and had a terrific rookie season, which has to be taken into account, correct? I just happen to be from Massachusetts where kicking someone while wearing a shoe is automatically charged as  the felony “Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon: To wit a shod foot.” But the law says nothing about how good you were as a running back in your rookie season. So you can see where the Chiefs and the NFL didn’t address the charges until the video cam out.

Which brings me to this point: How much did Clark Hunt and Roger Goodell know and when did they know it? Do they mean to tell us that TMZ got their hands on a hotel security camera footage they couldn’t? Granted, that’s what they said on the Ray Rice elevator wife-beating video, which was preposterous then, but do they really expect us to believe it now?

Again, this happened nine months ago. NINE. N-I-N-E months. Where has this investigation gone? Where was Ted Wells, doing interviews with all involved? Demanding access to all their texts? Requesting the surveillance videos from the hotel? Assuring Hunt he was not messing around and would uncover the truth if he had to go through every cell phone communication and every email of every person involved? Because that is what the NFL does when it wants to get to the truth, dammit.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d just assume Roger Goodell didn’t demand answers on Kareem Hunt beating a woman to the ground and then committing A&B DW on her because he didn’t give a shit about her or the crime she was a victim of. Now that the Chiefs have waived Hunt, the question is what kind of punishment they’ll suffer for enabling him all this time.
