49ers Cut Reuben Foster Then Learn He Was Involved in Another DV Incident Last Month

Source – The 49ers announced on Sunday morning that they will be releasing linebacker Reuben Foster after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge at the team’s hotel in Tampa this weekend.

Foster is accused of hitting Elissa Ennis, who is the same woman who recanted the accusation of domestic violence that led to Foster’s arrest in the offseason. There was at least one other incident between the two in October of this year.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a report of domestic violence was made to Santa Clara police, but Foster was not arrested. The 49ers told the Chronicle that they were unaware of any October incident or report.

According to Tampa police, Foster “slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area, and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face” during the incident that led to his arrest.

Holy moly, what a shitshow.

To become a success in any field you need talent, you need some degree of brains and you need a break or two. And if you are gifted by the gods with the sort of physical talents of a Reuben Foster, you get need way less brains and get way more breaks than if, for instance, you’re an aging male of average height and weight who’s happy if he can run a 5K in 27 minutes or play 18 holes without losing a ball. And Reuben Foster is such a waste of all that talent that he’s gotten several huge breaks in the span of just a few months and managed to squander every one of them.

First there was him testing positive for weed when he was at Alabama during one of those brief moments of time in a person’s life where testing positive for weed can cost him millions of signing bonus dollars. He dropped in the draft, but still managed to go in the 1st round where the big money is.

Next came that first incident of Domestic Violence, after which he caught a break when his girlfriend went before a judge and swore she lied about that incident:

Ennis testified Foster never hit her and that she made false accusations in order to extort money from him and ruin his career because she was angry over their breakup.

She actually risked perjury charges, which are rare in DV cases but still possible. And in doing so, got Foster reinstated and back on the 49ers.

Now we find out that he avoided blowing his career up last month over another domestic incident, didn’t get arrested, took that break and showed how much he appreciated his good fortune by getting arrested and charged with beating his girlfriend yet again.

I don’t know what actually happened all these times. You don’t know. Nobody does. That’s for a judge or jury to decide and even they will just be taking an educated guess. She either lied about him hitting her or lied about lying about it or he scared her into lying about lying about him hitting her. No one can say except them. Like I said, shitshow. All we do know is the Niners couldn’t be more justified for parting ways with this guy because he’s taken every inch of slack they’ve cut him and choked the organization with it. They say that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” But all San Fran asked of him was not to get arrested for domestic violence. What a goddamned waste of what should have been a great life. I’m so looking forward to never blogging about Foster again. So long, asshole.
