Will Dez Pull A T.O. When The Saints Play The Cowboys?
Dez Bryant is heading to New Orleans. Cool, good for him. He wanted to play for a Super Bowl contending team and it looks like he’s getting his wish.
What’s good for everyone else? The Saints head to Cowboys Stadium in just a few weeks. 11.29, to be exact. I’m ready for some fireworks. It’s now appointment television.
Dez Bryant has gone back and forth trolling the Cowboys on social media since he was released in April. Now he’s going to get the chance to troll them in real time and prove that not resigning him to this team was probably not the best move. And he’s going to do everything he can to prove that.
As if anybody needed to be reminded that the Cowboys stink out loud right now.
The Saints, on the other hand, are rolling. They haven’t lost a game since the season opener L to the Bucs. But despite being one of the top scoring offenses in the league, they’re thin at vet receivers. In fact, Michael Thomas is the only Saints’ receiver with more than 12 catches.
The biggest question though is if Dez will fit in the locker room in New Orleans. Were his antics actually a problem in Dallas or was he a scapegoat? Did he actually put unnecessary pressure on Dak or was that just bullshit to cover up the fact that Scott Linehan’s play calling sucks? (If you remember, Dez said the team’s issue was “garbage ass play calling” Preach.)
Even though he’s previously said he doesn’t harbor any hate for the Cowboys (and enjoyed a Beyonce concert with Jerry Jones a few months ago), we all know that he’s going to try to make a complete scene when he makes his return to Arlington. Why wouldn’t he? He may be far removed from that fantastic run in 2012-2014 run, but he’s still talented. He’s only 30, afterall.
I talked to NFL Network’s Jane Slater who broke the news earlier this morning and she said she spoke to #88 and that he’s obviously very excited to be playing again. But my guess is he’s even more excited that he gets to plan a T.O. type celebration weeks in advance.
We all know he’s just the right amount of petty to do something like this. I think I’d actually be ok with it too. Actually, if I was Dez, I’d have that shit planned out perfectly. You moved on from me? Cool. Watch me work. Perfect vindication even though the Saints are the much better team regardless of what Dez does.
I say he does it. Just like the the internet, I love when somebody goes full blown troll city. 1000% here for it.
