Let's Take A Look At The 2019 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

Source - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominations for their 2019 class, with Def Leppard and Stevie Nicks leading the list of hopeful inductees alongside Janet Jackson, Rage Against the Machine and Radiohead.

Def Leppard and Nicks earned their first-ever nominations, although Nicks was inducted in 1998 as a member of Fleetwood Mac. Also appearing on the ballot for the first time are Devo, John Prine, Roxy Music and Todd Rundgren. The other nominees are Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, the MC5, the Cure, Rufus & Chaka Kahn and the Zombies.

They’ll be inducted at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on March 29, 2019, in a ceremony that will be broadcast live on SiriusXM’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Radio station.

A lot of great musicians here. We have some obvious shoo-ins in Janet Jackson and Stevie Nicks, and then some not so obvious bands that should get in, but probably won’t. Rufus and Chaka Kahn, for example, had some absolute BANGERS back in the day and still aren’t in the hall even after being nominated ELEVEN times. They’re probably going to be grandfathered in (participation trophy) but you never know.

I haven’t heard of half the nominees, so I figured the best way to break them down is to listen to them and list them out best to worst. I’m not going to do all fifteen because like Donald Trump said, “half of you don’t even deserve to be here.” So here are my top ten. Only five actually get inducted so five through one are my choices for the winners.

10. MC5

9. Radio Head

8. Todd Rundgren

7. Zombies

6.  Rufus and Chaka Kahn

5. Rage Against The Machine

4. Janet Jackson

3. Def Leppard

2. LL Cool J

1. Stevie Nicks

The five unlisted bands made me want to van Gogh myself so don’t bother looking them up. These are the winners. Bet the house. Bet the mortgage. Bet your life. It’ll be interesting to see what happens at the actual ceremony, but I’m pretty sure I hit the nail on the head.
