We've Got The First Image And Synopsis For John Favreau's Live-Action Star Wars Show And It's All Awesome
StarWars.com- Production on the first Star Wars live-action streaming series has begun! After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

Note: If writing a blog about the first image from a Star Wars television series one day before the fight of Conor McGregor’s life doesn’t scream confidence, I don’t know what does. There’s not a worried bone in me whole damn body!
Alright, so literally every single word written in that press release was as awesome as the last and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face while reading it. We’re getting a live-action Star Wars television show (slated to hit Disney’s exclusive streaming service in 2019-2020), based on a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter like Boba or Jango Fett, who looks like he’s a Mandalorian straight outta ‘3:10 To Yuma’ or some shit, filling in some gaps between ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘The Force Awakens’, and Jon Favreau is hands on with it all as executive producer…oh yeah and Dave Filoni, the absolute MASTERMIND behind ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘Star Wars Rebels’ is directing the first episode. Bryce Dallas Howard’s got an episode too. And Taika Waititi.
Could you imagine if Boba showed up? They present it like they’re trying to tell this one bounty hunter’s story but along the way he (or she) finds out that Fett escaped the Sarlacc Pitt and is alive?!
Oh, and I wonder if the weapon strapped to this Mandalorian’s back is curved into a “U” shape at the top more than it has been in the past on purpose, paying homage to Boba Fett’s weapon from the very first time he was even seen…
…on the Star Wars Holiday Special’s cartoon sequence! Wouldn’t that be neat?
Alright, I gotta get back to fight stuff now, but start getting excited now, folks, because I think ‘The Mandalorian’ is going to be STUNNINGLY good.
