Pancake Flavored Beer From IHOP Sounds Actually Delicious

Innovation, innovation, innovation. That’s what the game is all about. IHOP tried it with that burger thing. They really went down swinging on that whole bit. What a weird internet day. Sometimes a company swings for the fences and comes up short, and that was one such day. They thought everyone was going to be hootin’ n hollerin’ about them changing their name to International House of Burgers. They thought people were going to be pissing themselves in anticipation of grabbing one of those new burgers. And instead, it was the exact opposite reaction. People were like uhhhh…we’re all set with our burgers. Wendy’s dunked all over them.

And ultimately, the experiment did not go over like gangbusters.

So what do you do when you’re down? You pick yourself up and you find that fucking dog. You get back on that horse. You change your name back to IHOP, and then you put it into beer.

Fox News - Sick and tired of the beer industry’s lack of pancake-infused beer offerings? Not to worry, because IHOP has you covered.

The chain, famous for its breakfast menu (and now, arguably, its burgers), has partnered with New York brewery Keegan Ales to debut IHOPS Pumpkin Pancake Stout, inspired by the Pumpkin Spice pancakes currently offered in restaurants.

The beer doesn’t just take inspiration from IHOP’s new pancakes, either — it also takes ingredients. The chain’s stout is said to blend “IHOP’s signature Buttermilk pancake batter mix with ingredients from its fall menu” to obtain its unique flavor, according to a press release.

Yo they put the batter, INTO the beer. That’s awesome. I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what you did, you need pancake batter in your beer. Now you probably aren’t going to want to drink more than 1 or 2 because they sound a bit too sweet (shout out AJ Styles), but on a brisk fall day, kicking back with a pumpkin spice pancake stout sounds astonishingly refreshing.
