There Are Reports Of Me Being A Hero For My Late-Night Blogging Which Resulted In A Fan's Car Being Replaced

[Cincinnati.com] - A man’s car fell victim to celebrating University of Kentucky fans, and has been replaced by a local dealership.

News outlets report Big M Superstore donated the 2005 Mazda 3 to 19-year-old Matt O’Hara, whose car was flipped Saturday. The Northern Kentucky University student was visiting friends in Lexington the night of the Wildcats’ 27-16 victory over the Florida Gators.

Dealership owner Stephen Montgomery says he learned of O’Hara’s plight from the Barstool Sports website.

Listen, I hate talking about myself. So, this is about the team. This is about the difference between Barstool Sports and someone like Deadspin. We are up late at night blogging. That’s actually class number one at Blogger School. Regardless, that’s the difference. Deadspin wouldn’t be heroes here. They would talk about something different. Barstool Sports is all about the community and helping people out.

That’s why I blogged this after Kentucky beat Florida on Saturday night.

Don’t tell me people don’t care about Kentucky football. Don’t tell me people don’t care about Barstool Sports. The dealership owner is practically calling me a hero for staying up late instead of celebrating like a young person would (has nothing to do with me being 31 and excited to sit in my recliner).

In all seriousness I’m glad the kid got his car replaced. Shouts to Stephen Montgomery for stepping up and donating a car to the kid. Just an idea. Don’t flip cars. Get hammered. Do dumb shit. Just don’t flip cars.
