Why Did The Browns Cut Linebacker Mychal Kendricks? Because They Do Not Tolerate Misbehavior.
Statement from John Dorsey on Mychal Kendricks:
Prior to signing Mychal, we were informed that there was a financial situation that he had been involved with in 2014. We were told Mychal had fully cooperated with investigators as a victim. From what was communicated at that time and based on the numerous questions we asked and further due diligence on our part, including checking with the league office, there was no information discovered that conveyed otherwise.
Recently, we were provided an update on the matter and the circumstances have changed. We are now dealing with a different set of facts and the additional information we’ve gathered has led us to the decision to release Mychal from our team. Due to the ongoing legal nature of this situation, we will have no further comments.
What an absolute clown show!! This team never ceases to amaze me. I’m not even mad – I gave up getting pissed off at the Browns about 5, 10, 15, 17 straight losses ago. I now look at them as a form of entertainment. And this one is about as entertaining as they come. Not because we signed a man involved in a federal investigation to a 1-year $3.5 million (remember this number for later) contract. No, the funny part of this one is that we cut him because all of a sudden the Browns organization has morals!!
No, we didn’t have morals when we drafted Josh Gordon in 2012 despite him falling asleep behind the wheel at a Taco Bell, failing a drug test, and testing positive for marijuana.
Or in 2013 when Gordon violated the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy.
Or in 2014 when he was arrested for driving while impaired in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Browns were okay with a full year suspension in 2014.
They were also cool with another full-year suspension in 2015.
The Browns did not care about Antonio Callway’s rap sheet when they selected him in the 2018 NFL Draft, after he tested positive at the combine.
That’s okay. We’re giving the guy a 5th chance. Well, I guess make that a 6th chance.
Make that a 7th chance.
The Browns didn’t even mind when current players Rashard Higgins and David Njoku were brought up in recent rape allegations.
No, the Browns are fine with all of that. But they are not a classless organization. There is a line, and Mychal Kendricks crossed that line when he committed FRAUD. The Cleveland Browns are an anti-fraud organization.
Nevermind. This whole thing just makes no sense. Why cut him?? After all of these issues. Let’s play the man! Play him until he can’t play anymore. Tired? You’re now returning punts. Want to come out? You’re now at quarterback. Good luck with our offensive line. We cut this man because of a little insider trading? This is not the first “trading” issue under the current management though.
Okay I’ve ranted enough for the day. Oh yeah, remember when I said Kendricks was signed for a 1-year $3.5 million contract? 1-year. $3.5 million. This idiot is now faces up to 25 years in the slammer because he profited a total of……..
Enjoy prison, Mike!
