The thing that really makes sports the best is the fact that at any given moment, you have the opportunity to witness greatness. Sports are not just a bunch of games played for fun. They are, to their very core, a crowning achievement of human excellence. We all grow up as kids wishing to be more than human at some point or another. Everybody wants to be a superhero. But as you grow older, many of us realize that we cannot fly. Many of us realize that we do not have super human strength. Many of us realize that we’re just plain old regular humans and we end up settling for a life where we crunch some numbers in an office while counting down the days until we die. That’s if you’re lucky. But for a select group of others? Professional sports are where they go to keep those superhero dreams alive. It is them who prove to the world that humans do, in fact, possess the abilities to be more than just human. And there is no better example of that greatness than the double knockout in trampoline dodgeball.

It takes the perfect combination of skill, strength, timing and precision to pull off a shot like this. You’re not going to see any ol’ Tommy or Joey in gym class picking off 2 opposing players with one ball. This is a shot reserved for only the most elite. You have to put the perfect english on that ball. You have to understand the way that your opponents are going to react and hit them in the exact right spot to where they’re going to deflect the ball off of their body and on to their teammate. It takes years of practice. It takes countless hours watching and breaking down film. And when you finally see it go down in real life?

P.S. – Friendly reminder that Kabaddi will be on your television today at 1pm. Iran vs India. Two teams who absolutely despise each other. You can throw out the record books when these two teams come together. Should be a real barn burner. Can’t wait.
