Wake Up With An NBA Countdown: Every Team's Best Dunk From 2018

Detroit Pistons v Toronto Raptors

Good morning everybody, happy Tuesday! While I was looking last night for this morning’s countdown I came across this new video put out by the NBA that showed me every team’s best dunk. It was late, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought to myself, you know who else would probably enjoy this? All the people who clicked on this blog looking for any possible way to delay the next 8 hours of their miserable cube lives. My first thought wasn’t “holy shit John Collins killed a guy” or “Jarrett Allen had maybe the dunk of the year” or “Giannis really jumped over that dude in a real game”. It was honestly that this was a perfect way for us all to start your day. That no matter who your favorite team is, someone had an awesome dunk at some point during this past season.

If you’ve clicked on this blog before you know that around here we’re a sucker for a good dunk. I figured since yesterday we focused on the best passes of 2018, it was time to look at the best dunks too. What I like about this video is it’s not all predictable. Who would have thought that Ryan Anderson would have the best dunk of the Rockets season? Not me, not you, hell probably not even Ryan Anderson. You know the Suns front office probably came across this highlight right before they cut Alex Len. I think what I like about today’s NBA is we’re starting to get some guards that really throw it down. I think we all are used to the 6’6-6’9 guy doing something crazy, but whenever I see a monster dunk coming from a guard it always grabs my attention just a little more. Especially because the guards in today’s game dunk that shit HARD. Guys like Westbrook, Mitchell, Smith Jr, Lillard, Wall etc. I’d say for me personally it’s guards and then big men who take it from then top of the arc and dunk on someone, like Embiid does.

So hopefully 2019 blesses us with just as many posters as 2018 did, and that this nice little 8 minute video will make your morning suck just a little less. Remember that’s all we’re trying to do each and every morning, just get through these days together. Also if there’s any players (new or old) or any other type of play you want to see, just list them in the comments below. Otherwise, have yourself a great Tuesday!
