The Tiger Woods Haters Will Laugh Today. That's Fine. We Will Laugh Tomorrow.

147th Open Championship - Final Round

We are devastated. Make no mistake about it, we are devastated. Crushed. Hurt.

It’s awesome that Tiger is back and competitive again. That can’t be overstated. In December he teed it up for the first time since intense back surgery; today he almost won The Open Championship at the tournament’s toughest venue. In just his third major back and 12th official start, Tiger Woods held the solo lead in the final round and could have easily won The Open Championship.

We’re devastated. Losing when you don’t have a chance is one thing, but the front nine could not have possibly gone better for us. We were 2-under and looking un-fucking-flappable. The leaders were floundering. Tiger became the betting favorite by a mile. It looked more like he’d win by 5 than lose. He knows how to win golf tournaments better than anyone else in the history of the world and he was leading the golf tournament. Conditions were tough.

But then the tides turned. I will never for the life of me understand why he tried that hero flop shot on 12 instead of chipping it 15 feet left and trying to make a putt. It sucks. Double bogeys kill you and that killed us.

We were ready to shove this major championship right down that haters’ throats. That will have to wait. Tiger went from April 1997 until August 1999 without winning a major. He went from June 2002 until April 2005 without winning a major. He went from November 2009 until December 2011 without winning a golf tournament.

He hasn’t won a major since June 2008 and he hasn’t won a tournament since summer 2013.

But he will win again.

The haters will revel in this moment. They will chirp. They will love it.

And eventually they will eat our fucking dicks.

Tiger’s back. Tiger will win again. I know it. You know it. The haters know it.

The next 5-10 years of golf are going to be so fucking awesome.
