Hey Dave Roberts, Aaron Nola Deserves To Start The All Star Game
Sorry Max, but it’s just not your year. I just have to convince Dave Roberts of that.
It is an absolute joy to watch you go to work every fifth day, @AaronNola027.#GeauxPhils pic.twitter.com/oi2Gwm5i7p

Dear Dave Roberts,
Now I’m a man of reason and one to back off when I know I’m wrong. There is no doubt in my mind that Max Scherzer has been the best pitcher in baseball for the past 4 seasons. He has even been the best pitcher in baseball this season. He currently leads MLB in SO, IP, and BAA. In his 4 seasons with the Nats, he is 61-30 with 1,005 SO in 785 IP. He also has 2 Cy Young’s and is on his way to making his 6th straight All-Star Game appearance.
Aaron Nola is 25 yrs old. He is in his 4th Major League season and has only 79 games under his belt. So far this season, he is 12-2 with a 2.27 ERA a 0.98 WHIP and ERA+ of 180 (80% above league average) and a FIP of 2.61. He leads all MLB pitchers in bWar with a 5.8, while batters are hitting a measly .200 against him. Max is an Old Bull and has already started 2 All-Star Games, Aaron is the Young Calf who is ready for a new challenge.
The Phillies are 14-5 when Aaron Nola starts this season. Let me correct myself, the FIRST PLACE Phillies are 14-5 when Aaron Nola starts this season. The barely .500 Washington Nationals sit 5.5 games back of the division and are 21-33 against .500 or better teams this season. Nola is currently ranked 26th among NL Starting Pitchers in Run Support. Scherzer is ranked 7th.
In the last six starts:
Aaron Nola: 5-0, 2.09 ERA, Opponents OPS .562
Max Scherzer: 1-4, 3.15 ERA, Opponents OPS .664
Nola leads the NL in wins, is 2nd in ERA and his team is in first place. It's obvious to me who deserves to start the All Star Game…

This is why we need to pencil Aaron Nola as the NL Starter, Dave Roberts. No one has lifted his team on their back more than Aaron Nola in the past month, especially in last nights game.
Intentionally loading the bases to pitch to an All-Star?
That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for them. #GeauxPhils pic.twitter.com/G8CO10WYxi

Outside of Nola the Phillies had 1 hit. 1 God Damn hit. 1-27 with 0 RBI was the Phillies lineup last night in game 2. Nola was 1-2 with a 3 RBI double that won the game! The FIRST PLACE Phillies as a team are only hitting .218 in these past 6 Aaron Nola starts and they are still 6-0.
Make the right decision Dave Roberts. Do not let Max Scherzer start this game in front of his home crowd. The Nationals fraud of a fan base deserves nothing. NOTHING! Remember this stat, Dave Roberts. Think about long and deep. Also, fuck you Rendon69.
I make fun of Nationals fans only. One because I hated Jayson Werth and two because the team has averaged 92 wins since 2012 yet ranked 14,11,12,11,14,11,12 in attendance during those 8 winning seasons. It's fucking pathetic. Now go crawl back to mommy's basement rendon69 pic.twitter.com/9k1YSb7dM2

They have never been Top 10 in attendance. The people of DC have no idea there is more to their city other than Capitol Hill. They have no clue there is a baseball team there, Dave. None. Once Bryce signs with the Phillies, that stadium will be empty. Aaron Nola is ready to take the baseball world by storm. I just need you to give him that opportunity.
Love,
TByrd
