RIP To The Dog Who Played Duke In The Bush's Baked Beans Commercials

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn. That’s a tough one. This one really hurts. And right before the 4th of July no less. Anybody who lived through the 90s knows all about Jay and Duke Bush. They’re right up there with other classic TV duos such as Bert and Ernie and Ren and Stimpy. I know I grew up watching Jay and Duke. I loved their commercials. The two would grace your television with their wonderful banter about the Bush secret family recipe. Jay would brag and boast about how he’d never told anyone the secret family recipe except for his loyal dog Duke. Duke would then turn around and try to sell the family recipe to the highest bidder in a humorous way. It was a great running gag. It was always good for a laugh.

That crazy Duke. Using crop circles to try and sell the recipe. Too good. That was Jay and Duke though. Always ribbing each other. Always giving each other grief. Unfortunately now the dog who played Duke has passed away. A sad day for everyone who welcomed Jay and Duke into their living rooms. A very good boy indeed. Please enjoy some Bush’s baked beans during your 4th of July. For Duke. I guarantee they’re rolling that beautiful bean footage in doggy heaven right now.
