Greg Hardy KO's Opponent In Under A Minute In His Pro MMA Debut

(Meant to write at :56 of the first round)

Well, fuck. I don’t think that’s really what any of us wanted to see from Greg Hardy’s fight on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.

This heavyweight bout was a quick one, and saw Hardy and opponent Austen Lane (former defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars) go through only a handful of exchanges before the knockout blow(s) was landed. Hardy definitely showed some signs of inexperience in his footwork and striking defense, but god damn does he pack a punch. Instantly I got that Alistair Overeem or Francis Ngannou feel where I was watching shots miss Lane’s head by an inch or two and couldn’t help but think, “The second he lands this one is over”, and as soon as he did, it was. If I correctly judged Dana White’s reaction to this highlight-reel sleeping, Hardy will be offered a UFC contract later tonight, and if that’s the case we can only hope he’s thrown right into the deep end. Feed him to Francis. Or Lesnar.
