You Can't Draft Michael Porter Jr. After This Wild Take

So here I was last night just minding my own business, watching a show about the upcoming NBA free agency and Draft needs for each team when this quick interview with MPJ comes on. Now, I’m not one to overreact or use hyperbole, but you can’t draft Michael Porter Jr. anymore.

Possible generational talent? Sure. Fits the way the NBA game is going now? Absolutely. Was he in the talk for the No. 1 pick heading into this season? You bet. But now? I’m not so sure if a team should even sign him to a 2-way contract. I’m not even worried about his back anymore or how that checks out with NBA medical teams.

You can’t say Kevin Durant is the best player in the NBA right now. You just can’t. Now, Porter is someone who likes to toe the line and say things to get people up in arms and boy did he do that this time. Just go ahead and trade LeBron and Durant straight up. How do the Cavs look? I bet they aren’t in the NBA Finals.

So I’d like to announce that I’m officially OUT on Michael Porter Jr. – although Bulls fans should be thrilled. Whatever animosity you still have from the LeBron vs Rose/Butler teams this is what you want to hear. For everyone else? Off the draft board.
