Marine's Obituary Honors Service, Rips Incompetent D.C. Drivers

With a nickname like Falcon & thirty years in the Marine Corps, retiring as a Colonel, it’s clear Robert F. Gibson was one tough gent. He served our country honorably with two tours to Vietnam, developed doctrine for the Marine Air Command & Control System, and deployed to countries around the world.

Personal awards include the Legion of Merit with Gold Star, Bronze Star with Combat Distinguishing Device, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Without a doubt, this man faced dangerous, difficult and many frustrating situations throughout his career, and handled them with poise & discipline. He passed away in December, but his service was held recently, and in death he was able to vent one thing out via obituary:

A native of Northern Virginia for the last 30 years of his life, he hated how all of you were incapable of driving competently.

If you’ve ever been in the D.C. area, you can sympathize with this. I have sat for hours on the city’s surrounding highways, all times of day & night, for reasons I’ll never know. You go 5mph for 10 miles and then all of a sudden everything is fine. No accident, no construction, just a mystery jam. There is no rhyme or reason to it, and it’s maddening. The only conclusion is that you’re all incapable of driving competently. ~ Sincerely, lady who got in a fender-bender this weekend when she dropped a water bottle at a red light and bent down to get it whilst still driving a ‘lil bit at the same time.
