CeeDee Lamb Wants To Get One Thing Clear - He Was Not Benched For Throwing Up In A Vegas Casino. He Was Benched For Missing Curfew
One of the funniest quotes I've seen all things considered. The fact that there were rumors out there that CeeDee Lamb was yakking in a casino and that's why he (and George Pickens) were benched for the first drive against the Raiders. The man can hold his liquor, he says so himself. Then again, that's always something said right before you hurl on a sidewalk. You come off shocked, surprised, defend yourself. Hey, everyone throws up, it's okay.
If anything this just shows how bad the Raiders are. The fact that there can even be a rumor that CeeDee Lamb was throwing up, benched and it didn't matter might be the low point of the Raiders season. This is a move that SEC teams do against UT-Martin in week 2 to prove a point. This is not something you see in the NFL, not when a team needs to essentially win out to make the playoffs.
But, don't you dare accuse CeeDee Lamb of throwing up. Smart on him to clear it all up. The boys just wanted to go get dinner and drinks. No harm in that. In fact you should want to go out and grab a bite to eat with your pals. Anyone who has been to Las Vegas also knows that time isn't real there. It can get away from you, real fast. You sit down at 7pm and the next thing you know it's 4am and you think it's like 10pm. It's the fakest thing in that city, there's no point in even having a clock.
That said, the Cowboys need to lean into this. Lean into and sell 'CeeDee Lamb can hold his liquor.' It's too good of a quote to just not use for an NFL team. The man wanted to make it clear, heard the rumors and cleared it up. Just dinner and drinks, nothing wrong there.
